Examinations are an integral part of the educational process. Evaluation is continuous and reveals the strengths and weaknesses of the learners frequently so that learners have better opportunities to understand and improve themselves.

Our examination system and promotion rules are consistent with the concept of evaluation developed by the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) and the policy envisaged by the Central Board of Secondary Education.

The details about the system are as follows:

1. THE PROGRAMME OF EVALUATION IN VARIOUS CURRICULAR AREAS IS AS UNDER:

• (a) Objective - based, aiming at the specific objectives of the scheme of studies.
• (b) Comprehensive, providing for a coverage of all the objectives.
• (c) Continuous, ensuring that there is no loss of time in getting the feedback about the progress of students, and
• (d) Dynamic, being completely integrated with teaching.

2. EVALUATION IN CLASSES I & II :

In conformity with the new evaluation scheme suggested by the CBSE the assessment of the students is continuous and comprehensive. This evaluation scheme takes care of the assessment of the all round development of the child's personality.

It includes assessment in SCHOLASTIC AS WELL AS CO-SCHOLASTIC AREAS of the pupil's growth. Scholastic aspect includes curricular areas or subject specific areas whereas co-scholastic aspect includes life skills, co-curricular activities, attitude and values.

To evaluate the scholastic areas:

• (a) The academic year is divided into four Boosters. School is conducting fun loving assessments which are based on orals, activities, projects and worksheets.
• (b) The absolute marks are translated into grades in the academic assessment.
• (c) Equal emphasis is laid on acquisition of life skills, attitudes and values, interests and achievements in co-curricular activities, including sports and games. These are also continuously evaluated through activities in which students are encouraged to participate.
• (d) The child’s progress will be shared regularly in P.T.M.

3. ASSESSMENT STRUCTURE FOR CLASSES III-VIII

• 1) Internal Assessment (20 marks each in Term-I & Term-II) which includes the following:
• a) Periodic Test (In July and December) 20 marks (converted to 5 marks) 5 marks
• b) Portfolio (Once in Term-I & Term-II separately) 5 marks
• c) Subject Enrichment Activity (Once in Term-I & Term-II separately) 5 marks
• d) Multiple Assessment (once in Term -I & Term-II separately) 5 marks
• e) Mid Term exams (In September) 20 marks
• f) Annual Exam (In March) 50 marks

Note: Midterm / Annual Examination for classes 3 to 5-50 marks Midterm / Annual Examination for classes 6 to 8- 60 marks

4. ASSESSMENT STRUCTURE FOR CLASSES IX & X

• 1) Internal Assessment which includes the following:
• a) Periodic Test (best 2 of three , 20 marks each) converted to. 5 marks
• b) Portfolio (Once in Term-I & Term-II separately) 5 marks
• c) Subject Enrichment Activity (Once in Term-I & Term-II separately) 5 marks
• d) Multiple Assessment (once in Term -I & Term-II separately) 5 marks
• 2) Mid Term exams (September) 80 marks will be converted. 30 marks
• 3) Annual Exam (March) 80 marks will be converted. 50 marks

In class X marks of internal assessment obtained by students on the basis of whole year performance (out of - 20 marks) will be sent to the Board by school and Annual exam will be conducted by board for 80 marks.

5. ASSESSMENT STRUCTURE FOR CLASSES Xl & Xll

• 1) In class XI, Term -1 includes the following:
• a) Periodic Test-1 (In August) 20 marks
• b) Mid Term exams (In September) 70 / 80 marks
• 2) Term-2 includes the following:
• a) Periodic Test-2 (in December) 20 marks
• b) Annual Exam (In March) 70 / 80 marks

In class XII marks of practical (out of - 20 / 30 / 40 / 70 marks) will be sent to Board by external examiners and Annual exam will be conducted by board as according to the subject
